March 31 -
One of 18 snook caught by 6-year-old Jarrett and his dad fishing with Capt. George Hastick in Tampa Bay recently. They got reds and trout to make multiple grand slams. The bite is on.

March 14 - Tom Newman with a fat Sarasota Bay trout taken fishng with Capt. Rick Grassett. The bay is seeing some excellent trout fishing right now, with Capt. Rick's most recent trip ending with some 30 fish landed on jigs.


Nov. 13 - Margaret Johnson and Capt. Rick Grasset with a beach king taken on a recent fly outing. The mackrel and kings have been close to shore of Sarasota and you can find out where on out Sarasota Fish Tracker Charts.


Nov. 13 - Captains Danny Winters, left, and Christ Walter with the fish that allowed them to advance to the FLW Redfish tour championships for the second consecutive year. They are the only team to achieve a championship repeat. The duo place 3rd in Alabama and took a $10,000 prize. The two placed 2nd in the championships last year and are looking for a win this time around.

Nov. 1 - Capt. George Hastick has been slamming in Tampa Bay. Snook are sometimes the tricky part of achieving an inshore slam and other days they are the ones that come easy, like this and 10 others that combined with a couple of reds and trout.

Nov. 1 - Kings are king this time of year, but don't forget spanish mackerel. Capt. George Hastick has been finding them just off the beach beach around Johns Pass - fish like this one.

Oct. 10. The Kingfish run is on in Sarasota. Sutt over at New Pass says some anglers are slamming big catches of fish to 40 inches. Get the details here.

Dec. 19 - Capt. Jim Lemke with a nice fly-caught red. He's on the schooling fish in Tampa Bay and having a blast.

Nov. 30 - Capt. Tommy Contino slammed the grouper yesterday off Pasco County, taking 52 fish, half estimated to be keepers or very close. They released all but three, the largest 15 pounds.Get Details of this big bit here.


Nov. 29 - It was a killer holiday weekend for Capt. George Hastick, who got out on his own for some fun wade fishing. Hitting deep pockets where fish were holed up on low tide in Tampa Bay, he nailed 79 reds to 32 inches, 70 trout to 24 inches, a snook and assorded others.


Nov. 16 - The roosterfish bite is on. No, not around here, but Costa Ricca. Capt. Chuck Rogers just returned from a trip there and passed on this photo. He didn't have a fighting belt on and he's still bruised from the encounter.

Oct. 27 - Captains Dany Winters, left, and Bitetracker's Kris Walter with the two redfish that earned them 2nd place and $15,000 in the FLW Redfish tour.

Oct. 20 - Capt. Tommy Contino with a pair of cobia, the largest of which was 41 inches, taken today fishing off Hudson. He also bagged mackerel to 28 inches and reports the area was just covered up with fish today. Get details on where on our Hudson area Fish Tracker Chart.

Oct. 20 - Capt. Pat Horrigan with a pair of trout he took on a fly trip yesterday. He lets most go, but invited these two home for dinner. He was fishing out of the Cotee River and shares his report info on our New Port Richey area Fish Tracker Chart.


Oct. 17 - Capt. Mark Gore put this lady angler on the fish Saturday during the Cystic Fibrosis charity tourney. It was one of several taken on their Tampa Bay excursion.

Oct. 20 - This nice red was part of a Friday the 13th slam for Capt. Pat Horrigan and angler, who beat the bad-luck day in style. He was fishing out of New Port Richey.

Oct. 9 - Capt. Kris Walter with a monster 45-inch snook they got over the weekend. It was one of 6 fish 36 to 45 inches and they lost some other big ones. Dock fishing at night, was they key, and you can get details on our North Pinellas Fish Tracker Chart.

Oct. 9 - Scott Denicort with a 27-inch red taken with Capt. Chuck Rogers. It was one of six, along with snook, and other species taken in Tampa Bay. Get details on our middle bay tracker chart.


Oct. 6 - Capt. Chuck Rogers just returned from a trip to Sebastian inlet this week and reports the mullet run is in full swing and the fish are going nuts. He and mates caught giant reds and tarpon like this one. The seas were too rough to boat it so they couldn't get to the snook they wanted, but a good time was had despite that.


Oct. 3 - Capt. Pat Horrigan had a kille day yesterday fishing out of Hudson. The macks were taken along with trout, but the highlight were 350 and 175-pound sharks that ate pinfish they were drifting. Get details on our northernmost fish tracker chart.

Aug. 21 - Dave Sprouse shows off a nice fly snook taken with Capt. Rick Grassett. This fish came from docks on the back of Little Gasparilla but Capt. Rick's been getting some of night fish in south Sarasota of late.


July 9 - Josh Notari's rarpon release with the help of his guide, Capt.Rick Grassett. The beach bite has been on and off along Sarasota, so be sure to check the fish tracker charts for when the action is hot.


March 11 - Caption Dennis Grau's CAL Jig Pompano taken this week fishing with Capt. Rick Grassett, who has been doing well in Charlotte Harbor's backcountry.


Jan 26 - Reds have been plentiful for Capt. George Hastick, who put this angler on this and other fish on a recent Tampa Bay tirp. Lots of fish just at keeper size have been the norm, but there are some large slot fish, as well.


Jan. 15 - Capt. Ed Peters has been putting his anglers on some nice grouper of late, including fish like this big gag.

Jan. 4 - Capt. Kevin McMillin got back to the water for a grouper trip recently and found some of the best action he's seen in a long time fishing off Pasco County. This 13-pound gag displayed by mate Capt. Deborah was just one of many landed.

Aug. 6 - Angler Jim Eliason's used a DOA TerrorEYZ to bag this river tarpon on a recent trip with Capt. Rick Grasset. The little poons provide some great late-season action.

July 18 - Angler Keith Collins with one of 20 tarpon hooked on a trip in Tampa Bay with Capt. Jim Lemke. The fish were on fish.

June 21 - Alex and Conner with a nice Snook that Conner caught on a Father's Day trip with Capt. Jim Lemke in Tampa Bay. It’s was Connor's first ever snook.


June 20 - A recent Middlegrounds trip by Capt. Kris Walter, pictured, saw this 250-pound beast invited up to the surface for a quick snapshop before being released. It was a great trip, with grouper, snapper and more.
